Success

Today was a fairly unproductive day. I had a huge to-do list, but I hardly accomplished any of it. I just didn't have much energy to get around to completing much today. Plus, Jon was gone studying most of the day, and it rained, so the kids and I were cooped up in the house together all day.

So this afternoon the kids got bored and decided to experiment with cause and effect. They threw all the socks into the spinning ceiling fan to see what would happen. Of course, if it were anything other than socks, I wouldn't have allowed it, but they just had a blast and this activity entertained them for quite a while. Yes, we're amused easily around here!

Then they learned more about cause and effect when they had to clean them all up!

To-Do list:
Clean out Garage...
Finish Lesson...
Organize Basement...
Etc, etc, etc...
Read to kids... check!
Play with kids... check!

Hopefully tomorrow will be more productive. But even though I failed to complete most of my to-do list, I still feel this day was a success. I spent it with my kids. :)

Sounds like a successful day to me. I'm sure your kids made some amazing memories today - especially with pictures to document it. They may not remember if the garage was clean or dirty, but they'll remember that their mom let them throw socks at the ceiling fan. You are such a great mom, Nicole!

It's those small things that we do with our kids that are our biggest successes in life. :)

Oh man, can I relate! I had an early o.b. appointment today, then had to rush to a preschool field trip. And by the time I got home, all I could do was lie down. Even though it is hard to actually sleep...because I still have to pay attention to the kiddos, but still....NOTHING got done. Laundry, dishes, pick up rooms, ect. Luckily, once I got up, I had a second wind, and atleast got some things done. But I hear ya on not accomplishing all that you would have liked. Oh well....tomorrow's another day.
I love the outfits on the kids. (dresses to costumes) Looks like a blast throwing the socks too. I have a fan in my room....maybe that will be our activity tomorrow.

I love that you can have fun and not stress when the kids are bored. What a fun idea---I know my boys would've just jumped all over the opportunity!

Very successful day - you spent time with your kids. You taught them to follow their inquisitiveness and it's ok to test ideas and find out what happens and also to clean up after themselves. There are a lot of adults that still need to learn that :) And I bet that to do list was patient enough to wait around for you the next day wasn't it? You probably just had one of your most successful days (almost even sounds like a homeschooling day LOL)
